My first training in the ICA techniques was over ten years ago. I have attended two further trainings. All were excellent sessions. The methods themselves have been very useful in dealing with people in many situations. I have probably applied some aspect of them almost every day, whether in work or at home. Other trainings focus on methods; ICA teaches an ethos and the methods to develop it.

I have attended Group Facilitation Methods, Action Planning and Participatory Strategic Planning with ICA:UK and have benefited from the learning and methods. I currently use the methods across all my work and it has helped me to build partnerships and collaborations across Third Sector organisations. I have attended several ICA:UK training courses over the years, starting with group facilitation skills. The courses are of the highest quality both in terms of content, method and delivery. They were effective in giving me the tools to act in a facilitation role when required. They were certainly value for money. More important,however, is that the suite of courses are all based upon over 50 years of practice in the field drawing upon multi-disciplinary knowledge. Its certainly not simply transactional - you pay the money and get trained to earn more dosh - but is part of a global effort to promote social change.

I'll make a wager that you'll not find a review under 5 stars. There are reason for this and you should attend one of their courses to find out for yourself why. I believe it is because the facilitators work hard planning the workshops, delivering the workshops and spending time evaluating each and everyone. As a participant, I felt valued...and it isn't often I can say that about other training course that I have attended.
Furthermore, I'm still using techniques that were introduced to me when I first attended (many years ago) and will continue to do so.

I've done two training courses with them - they were really enjoyable and well priced but more to the point I am using the techqniques I acquired in these courses on a weekly basis. Absolutely brilliant for anyone starting to work as a facilitator or for an established facilitator wanting to learn new methods. Very strong on structure and getting people to join in by engaging emotionally. The courses are given by practitioners which really really helps.

I have been on several ICA training courses over the last few years. They are always informative, well delivered and very participatory which is just how I like training to be! They all have corresponding workbooks to go with the courses which are full of content so you can go back over it when you need to.
I have also bought two stcikywalls which I use in my facilitation and my own training.
