We are always on the lookout for individuals who identify with our values and mission to join our board. If you are interested in becoming a trustee with us, you can find out more below.

Our current Board of Trustees are Andy Daw, Barbara Ridhiwani, Derek McAuley, Gbenga Folayan, Kate Liu & Belinda Sidhu.

Why become a trustee?

ICA:UK is a leading national, training not for profit, organisation. Our aim is to enable citizens to have the skills and confidence in civic society to address things such as developing consensual ways of developing their organisations, resolving conflict, listening skills and talking truth to power.

Being a trustee enables you to bring your expertise to guide the organisation to achieve its aim and live out its values. You also have the opportunity to extend your network and to learn new skills.

What does it involve?

We meet usually once a quarter. Our role is to work alongside our small but very skilled staff team and associate trainers, in steering this established group through these turbulent times. The Board has oversight of the financial and legal aspects of running the organisation and provides strategic leadership. Our Board members connect with our wider international network through ICAI and represent us across the network.

Who are we looking for?

We have just undertaken a participatory strategic planning process to guide us through the next few years. This identifies our approach to building new connections, activities and resources. We are aware that we need to diversify the demographic of our team, on the Board and more widely, to engage with more activists, young people and people of colour. *We use the term people of colour as an umbrella term to encompass black people, ethnic minorities (in the UK) and other minority ethnicities.

To help with this, we are looking for additional board members.

We are looking for individuals with experience of serving in a governance or management role. We’d be interested to hear from those that have experience of running a social enterprise. Also individuals with skills in marketing and promotions would be an asset to us.
